The Spanish, British, and French colonized all over the world in order to strengthen themselves. However, they have not left the places where they colonized unchanged. The culture, economy, and religion of the colonized areas have been greatly changed due to the Spanish, British and French colonists. Spanish culture is still seen in the former Spanish colonies in Latin America. British and French culture is still seen in the USA and Canada. Not only were the economies of the mother countries stengthened, but also the nations under their control. Most importantly, the colonialism of the Spanish, British, and French allowed for the spread of Christianity in many areas which had never heard of Christ before. In fact, many of their former colonies are now considered Christian nations.

1. List and discuss the effects of European introduced diseases on Native Americans during the Age of Discovery.

One example of this is the black plague which went from asia to europe but during the time of the discovery of america europeans introduced the black plague into america. Some other examples are Influenza, smallpox, measles and typhus. They were intentionlly brought by the Europeans and severly reduced the popuation of the indans.
Smallpox: a highly contagious viral disease characterized by fever and weakness and skin eruption with pustules that form scabs that slough off leaving scars.

2. How hold world powers pursued a policy of forced relocation and conversion when dealing with Native Americans.
Another long term effect on colonized countries comes through religion. Believing "The Lord is high above all nations..." (Psalm 113:4), the nations having the Lord sought to expand His reign "even to the remotest part of the earth" (Acts 1:8). In some cases it becomes a driving motive for colonization in an attempt to spread the gospel. In other cases it is not the main motive, but a side-effect that is adapted by colonized peoples. A striking example is again found in the conquest of the Aztec empire. Before the invasion by Cortes, the Aztec nation practiced human sacrifice and idol worship. Now, however, the area which the Aztecs once occupied is predominantly Catholic. In an article entitled, “Teaching About… Religion in Latin America” Ronnie Kahn states, “Due to Spanish and Portuguese colonization initiated in the 1500s, Latin America and Latin Americans have been viewed as under the control of the Catholic Church.”
During the late 1800’s many European powers struggled for control of Africa. The missionary David Livingstone was the first European to explore the interior and exposed tribes to Christianity. One final example can be found in the early colonists of America. Religion played a big part in the colonization of North America because many Puritans who came to settle in the New World did so for religious purposes. “English evangelism occurred through colonization and expansion. Various religious groups arrived at different times settling in different areas. Once settled, these colonists reached out within those areas.” (Christian Chronicler, “Anglicanism in America”)

BRITAIN
The English were hostile to the Indians. They wanted what the Indians had, and used their superiority as a race as a reason to take it by force. Indians were enslaved, forced out of their lands, cheated by those who did "trade" with them, and generally mistreated. They viewed them as 'savages' in need of salvation and education. They forced the indians into reservations, where they were expected to abandon their ways and learn the European way of life. Although some parties of English were particularly brutal, some parties of English settlers got on well.

Question 3
Describe how Native Americans responded to the arrival of Europeans in both north and south America.

The Americans would have been very confused at first but angry after a while because they would realize that they were being invaded. Although this is the case the native Americans and the ‘settlers’ made treaties and deals and they learned to work together to build things, but there was always the problem of the European settlers wanting more than the native Americans could give them. This led to wars and battles
